University of Granada (Spain)
Melissa Leismer has a Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Granada in Spain, and she also received a master’s in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College in Illinois. She is currently the interim director of the English Language Institute at Illinois State University. Her research interests include code-switching in written texts, postcolonial studies and hybridity. Her latest project is writing the first full-length literary study of the author Felipe Alfau, a Spanish- American novelist from the twentieth century.
